We understand materials are expensive. Some materials will have to be bought from lesson to lesson, but realize that many of the supplies listed on the materials list will become a permanent part of your FX Tool Kit. Some tools you only need to buy once and will be helpful in MULTIPLE courses that we offer, so don't let the materials lists intimidate you.
Unlike CGI, practical and makeup effects are heavy on the materials front. Some of the tools are pretty pricey but totally worth it if you're serious about character creation. Slowly assembling your artist tool kit will be essential if you pursue such a career. Every artist, whether a mold maker or makeup professional, should have their own tools and purchase the necessary supplies to practice and perform their techniques.
That said, we suggest you watch any course you're interested in FIRST before purchasing the materials on the list. Typically, only some materials the artist uses are strictly necessary, and you should understand how they're used in the course before you purchase them. If you're on a budget, you can prioritize which materials you'll get the most use of and which are essential for your project. Then you can add to your kit over time.
